New Hampshire offers exciting fishing opportunities, especially for residents. But when you consider their land-bound Salmon fishery, reasonable fishing prices, and extensive conservation efforts, New Hampshire should be on most angler to visit lists.

New Hampshire fishing licenses are valid for the calendar year in which they are issued. Replacement licenses can be printed at the vendor of purchase or can be printed online if they were bought at a reputable vendor at least one week before.

There are limitations on the number of times a license may be re-printed, but there is no fee for doing so.

Young fishers under the age of 16 are not required to have a fishing license. Fishers 16 or older are required to have their license with them at all times while fishing or transporting fish.

New Hampshire requires a valid state license or ID as proof of residency. Minors without their own ID are able to use their parent’s ID, with the parent present, as proof of residency.

Military service members may be eligible for discounted rates on fishing licenses in the state of New Hampshire.

In general, night fishing is allowed in New Hampshire, although some locations may limit it. Salmon and trout are the only fish types that cannot be fished overnight, being limited to an hour before dawn through two hours after sunset.

Anglers are responsible for knowing and abiding by all of New Hampshire's fishing regulations, including location-specific and temporary regulations in place when they go fishing.
