Georgia’s fisheries offer anglers a variety of fishing challenges. Its waters are suitable for beginner anglers all the way through to competitive fishermen, and its fishing licenses are reasonably priced and easy to get.

Anglers interested in taking trout home will need an extra license on top of their standard fishing license. These licenses are available annually as well as single-day licenses. Georgia doesn't offer daily fishing permits for residents since their annual fishing rate is highly affordable. Non-residents do have a choice of a daily or annual fishing license.

Seniors, individuals with disabilities, and military veterans are all potentially eligible for discounted rates on Georgia fishing licenses.

Georgia provides a lot of resources for its anglers. Take a look at their Department of Natural Resources fishing page for more information on the resources and reports available.

This truly is a friendly state for anglers of all stripes. Between the fish reports, a wide variety of fish species available, and even 3 free fishing days each year, Georgia is a good place to be a fisherman.

Some lifetime licenses are also available for Georgia residents. Some qualifying non-residents, usually children who are related to permanent Georgia residents, can also receive lifetime licenses in Georgia.
